Privacy Policy

Last updated · 4 June 2026

Short version

The CoworkRestore app stores snapshots of your project folders locally on your Mac. Nothing about your files, folder names, or snapshot contents is sent to us or to any third party. We only receive what you explicitly send: an email message, a licence purchase, or an opt-in crash report.

Scope

This policy covers activities on coworkrestore.com and inside the CoworkRestore Mac application. It does not cover other websites we may link to, or offline interactions outside of the channels listed below.

Consent

By using the website or the application you consent to this Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree with it, please don’t use the service.

Information we collect

We only request personal information when we need it, and we’ll tell you why at the point we ask. The categories are:

  • You contact us. If you email us or message us via WhatsApp, we’ll receive your name (if you provide one), your email address or phone number, and the contents of the message, including any attachments.
  • You buy a licence. Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. They collect your name, email, billing address, and payment details and pass us the information we need to issue a licence key, send receipts, and handle refunds. See Lemon Squeezy’s own privacy notice for their handling of card data.
  • Snapshots. Snapshots created by CoworkRestore are stored on your Mac - by default inside the project, or in a location of your choice. They are never uploaded to us or to any cloud service operated by Ongoing Things.
  • Crash reports and diagnostics. If you opt in, the app may send anonymised crash reports - macOS version, hardware model, app version, and a stack trace - so we can fix bugs faster. These reports never include file contents, folder names, or snapshot data. You can turn this off in the app’s settings at any time.

How we use your information

  • Operate and maintain the website and the application.
  • Issue licence keys and provide receipts.
  • Reply to support requests and handle refunds.
  • Improve the product based on aggregated diagnostics and feedback.
  • Send occasional product update emails to licence holders (you can unsubscribe at any time).
  • Prevent fraud and licence abuse.

Server logs

Like most websites, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs: IP address, browser type, referring page, and timestamps. These are used to debug performance issues and detect abuse. They’re not used to identify visitors personally, and they’re rotated on a short schedule.

Update checks and Sparkle

The application checks for new versions via Sparkle, a standard macOS auto-update framework. Each check is a single anonymous HTTPS request to our update server. We do not log IP addresses for update checks beyond standard server logs.

GDPR rights (EU/UK residents)

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct or erase it.
  • Restrict or object to certain kinds of processing.
  • Receive a portable copy of it.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email coworkrestore@ongoingthings.com. We’ll respond within one month.

CCPA rights (California residents)

California residents may request disclosure of personal data collected, request deletion of that data, and opt out of any sale. We don’t sell personal data. Requests are handled at the same email address above and answered within one month.

Children

CoworkRestore is aimed at professional adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Cookies

The website uses essential cookies for things like remembering whether you’ve dismissed a banner, and a privacy-respecting analytics script that does not set tracking cookies and does not share data with advertising networks.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. The version on this page is always the current one, and the “Last updated” date at the top tells you when it last changed. Material changes will also be announced in the application.
